Braylon goin after the thumb already
Braylon gettin to wild had to get strapped down, typical Howland
Monday March 1, 2010 allowed 2 more Howlands to enter the world, look out. Braylon Michael Howland (3 lbs 5 oz) and Kaden Darold Howland (2 lbs 12 oz) decided to surprise us a little early. We kind of had an idea that this would be happening but hoping not this early. It was another stress test that caused more stress than relieved.
Ashley was taken up by helicopter while I took my mom in her mirano. Luckily I have insane driving skills and was lucky enough there wasn’t any cops around. I made it up here in plenty of time to watch a couple miracles happen. Ash did great in her labor, Braylon had some troubles on getting out, and Kaden was patient enough to wait his turn.
As soon as the boys were out of Ash’s belly they were taken to separate stations where there were 3 to 4 nurses and a doctor. They both had good heart beats, and were breathing on their own. The doctors still decided to stick a tube down their throats so they didn’t have to work so hard breathing. Already taken on Howland traditions let somebody else do all the hard work. That’s how I know they are my boys.
I was able to go up with the boys after their delivery while the doctors were sewing Ashley back up. They put a couple extra tubes in the boys to measure blood pressure and heart rate. Kaden was only able to have one tube but is still kicking and fighting. Right now the boys are doing about as well as the can at 30 weeks along. They were put in separate rooms because the other babies couldn’t handle all that Howland testosterone the newbie’s were bringing in. My boys were only out for about 15 minutes and were all ready at top in N.I.C.U. Just another great Howland trait. The boys look like their already going to be heart breakers, cutest little guys I’ve ever seen.
It’s a great experience so far, but I’ve only been a dad for a few hours and I’m looking forward to many years. Ill be putting up some pictures later. Then everyone will see how cute they are, until they grow up to look like me. Poor guys, you got to feel for them.
